Iris 'Sable' - 1 bare root plant - Iris 'Sable' is one of the very best of the deep purples. Iris 'Sable has velvety black-purple falls and purple standards, with a good scent.
These are bearded irises, we had plenty of these in my parents’ May and June garden. Bearded iris fill their whole corner with that totally unique exotic spicy scent. These tall iris prefer a hot, sunny and well-drained position. Plant them with the rhizome just showing.

Iris will produce more flowers if dug up and replanted every 3 years. Before and after planting and flowering, cut the leaves to 15cm to prevent the rhizome being dislodged by wind-rock.
