Sprouts need a sheltered, sunny spot and a rich, free-draining soil.
Sowing:
Sow seeds under cover in March/April into individual seed modules. Sow 2 seeds into each module. After germination, thin out the weakest one. Grow on until the roots fill the module and plant them out. Easy germination.

Care tips:
Plant under fleece or mesh to protect from caterpillars.
Harvest:
Throughout the winter, October - January, when sprouts at the base are walnut-sized and tightly closed. Production: 2 months.
Cooking Notes:
Stir fry them to keep their colour, or steam them gently. Lovely sautéed with almonds and chilli flakes.
